Scientific Research on Yoga: A Global View from the Cutting Edge ~ S.S. Sat Bir Singh Khalsa, Ph.D., (L/D) Yogi Bhajan Tent This workshop will present an overview of the history and breadth of yoga research, with special attention to research done on Kundalini Yoga. We will also review the value and implications of this research, especially for teachers who may find this information useful in promoting and marketing their classes, communicating the benefits to their students, and in convincing administrators in schools, fitness centers, healthcare centers and other institutions to incorporate yoga classes into their facilities.
Sat Bir Singh Khalsa, Ph.D. is a neuroscientist with a 40-year Kundalini Yoga lifestyle practice. He is Director of Research for the Kundalini Research Institute and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. He researches the efficacy of yoga for stress, insomnia, PTSD, anxiety, and public schools.
