How does $30 for 30 days of unlimited yoga at a great yoga center with access to 90+ classes per month sound to you? This is what is called an “irresistible pricing offer.” It removes cost from any of the reasons someone might or might not take a yoga class.

Normally an individual yoga class in NYC costs $20. You can see why $30 for 30 days of unlimited yoga sells itself!

For a few months we have been offering this deal at our yoga center in New York. There are millions of people in NY and there are over 400 yoga centers in Manhattan alone and the outlying areas like Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, the Bronx, and Long Island have hundreds more yoga centers. With lots of work, planning, and changes to our website the word has gotten out and our classes are getting much larger. This success took plenty of hard work and planning on the part of a whole team of people, and it has been delightful to see more people benefitting from the sacred teachings of Yogi Bhajan and Kundalini Yoga and Meditation.

I am not recommending that anyone follow our pricing offer without careful planning. But, I do recommend that you look at the pricing for your yoga classes, whether they are in someone else’s yoga center, a place you rent yourself, your own home, a YMCA, or a dance or marital arts studio. Carefully run the financial numbers and look at the possibility of offering an irresistible pricing option that is redeemable for only one day or one day of a weekend, or offering students the option to sign up for a longer series of classes that they pay for upfront, so you can get folks in the door and let them meet you and have an inexpensive experience of Kundalini Yoga and Meditation.

The other important detail is to give fantastic customer service. Learn every students name or have a friend come to class to help you gather everyone’s name and email address. Also, teach your class as though Yogi Bhajan was right next to you on the bench. Be authentic, be prepared, don’t cater to the students, but do teach the class exactly as he taught it, the same times, the same music, and share from your heart in your own words your experience from practicing the kriya and meditation.  Read quotes or paragraphs from Yogi Bhajan’s own lectures, let the students meet him in his own words. There are some great lectures available on KRI and Sikhnet. Dress yourself to meet the Master face to face and be proud of the legacy you bring to your teachings of Kundalini Yoga. Prepare to have students arrive who are more ready to receive and embrace his teachings with open minds, hearts and heads than any time since Yogi Bhajan first started teaching. It’s 2011 and the Aquarian Age has already dawned, people are thirsty for these teachings and we need to be like the water carrier depicted in the image ofthe Aquarius astrological symbol--in touch with the Infinite and letting the knowledge flow like water to those who need it to enhance their lives and soothe their souls.

Kundalini Yoga East is guided by the husband and wife team of Sat Jivan Singh and Sat Jivan Kaur Khalsa, senior teachers in the Kundalini Yoga Tradition, as taught by Yogi Bhajan. They have been living, breathing and serving the teachings of Kundalini Yoga since Yogi Bhajan himself asked them to start teaching in New York City in 1971.
